Did you know that Devil’s Postpile National Monument began as a lake of lava? The base of this geological wonder is only a half mile hike from the Reds Meadow shuttle stop.
Rainbow Falls, as featured in the photo above, is an impressive 101 foot waterfall where you can often see rainbows through the mist. An exposed 2.5 miles from the shuttle stop will get you to this waterfall, but you don’t have to stop there. If a longer hike is what you are after, the trail continues to some lower falls.
The Reds Meadow Resort and Pack Station officially has all services available for the 2021 season. This is great news for lodging options and pack trips.
For those into fishing, picnicking, and nature viewing, the Middle Fork of the San Joaquin River is a lush and beautiful meadow to explore.
